Past Tense – Classroom Activities
Classroom activities are very important for learning a language because they help students practice what they have learned and make connections between what they are learning in class and what they are already familiar with. Activities also allow students to practice speaking in a natural setting and improve students’ fluency.
Some simple past activities that can be used in the classroom include:
-asking students to recount a recent experience using the past tense
-having students write a short story or essay using the past tense
-doing a role-play where students must use the past tense to talk about a historical event
– having students recount a time when they did something embarrassing
– having students describe a time when they accomplished something difficult
– having students share a time when something funny happened to them.
