How to overcome Poverty?
In this article, I will tell you a story that begins in Daphne, Canada. In 1974, Daphne was a town. Today, it’s a city. In 1974, an experiment was conducted in this town. The town’s residents were guaranteed a basic income, and the government provided a basic income.
When the experiment began, many researchers arrived in the town, and everything ran smoothly for four years. Approximately four years later, the new Canadian government decided that the experiment conducted in Daphne was too expensive.
As soon as the researchers realized there was insufficient funding available to analyze the results of this experiment. They closed their results files, numbered in the thousands.
After 25 years, a Canadian professor named Evelyn discovered those files containing the results of this experiments. From these files, she collected data. The professor examined the data from different statistical analyses for three years and found the same outcomes each time. The experiment was conducted 25 years ago and was a great success.
During the four years in which the town’s residents were provided with a basic income, the people of Dauphins became wealthy. In addition, their health status improved. The school performance of the children improved significantly. Hospital admissions have decreased by 8.5 percent. There has been a significant decline in domestic violence. People did not give up working. Only women who gave birth or students who spent most of their time in school worked a little.
The concept of a basic income has been tested in different countries worldwide. The results of this experiment have been overwhelming in every respect.
This experiment teaches us that a basic income allows individuals not to fall below the poverty line.
Poverty is a terrible condition. A beautiful statement by George Orwell was that poverty annihilates the future.
My conclusion is that if a family is able to generate a source of basic income, it can undoubtedly avoid falling below the poverty line.
Lack of money can lead to many poor decisions. A source of basic income is, therefore, necessary for every person who wants to get rid of poverty.
To avoid making bad decisions, every breadwinner of a family should seek out ways to generate a basic income.
